I’m sure there are many tools for managing your social media accounts but here I’m going to list the top 10 that will make your life easier.
1. TweetDeck

also allowed management of
Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn,
but its 2011 acquisition by Twitter
raises questions about whether it
will be developed with a closer
Twitter focus in the future. Support
for some social networks such as
LinkedIn was dropped in recent
makeovers of the Web-based version.
2. HootSuite
for managing most leading social
networks. This one’s great for a
group of people jointly administering
one or more social media accounts.
It’s optimized for team management
of social networks. Integrated with
Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+
Pages and more. Offers free and premium versions. The free one lets you manage up to 5 social profiles. A $10 a month premium account offers unlimited profile management.
3. SocialBro
SocialBro is a high-powered, free
app for managing Twitter and
other networks, It performs
strong analysis of your networks,
too. SocialBro is available as a down-
loadable desktop app. Its built-in
analytics scour data from your
Twitter stream to see who’s reading
yours and to advise you on when to
tweet, who’s not following you back,
what your followers are talking most
about and other information. SocialBro
works with Facebook and Google+ as well.
4. SocialOomph
SocialOomph is a collection of tools
for managing social media. In addition to
monitoring and posting to Twitter, it
offers a URL shorter and will create a
custom RSS feed for you to zap messages directly to subscribers. The premium version integrates with Twitter, Facebook,
and LinkedIn and allows teams to do collaborative updating. The free version basically is aimed at Twitter users. Premium plan costs $18 every two weeks, or a little more than $36 a month.
5. Crowdfire App
Formerly known as JustUnfollow, the app now known as Crowdfire comes in an updated iPhone version that aims to provide and compare useful stats on your Twitter account. The app, updated over the weekend, reveals how your own Twitter audience breaks down beyond what Twitter itself offers. For example, you can view recent followers, recent unfollowers, inactive followers, nearby followers, people you follow who don’t follow back and people who follow you but who you don’t follow. Crowdfire also includes tools to automate your Twitter activity. You can set up a whitelist to automatically include accounts you won’t want to unfollow.
6. Crowdbooster
Crowdbooster is a newer
free tool to help businesses
managing their Facebook
pages and Twitter accounts.
It does some cross-comparison
analytics of those two networks,
too, and will make recommendations
on the timing for your posts as
well as who you should engage
with more often. The free version
lets you monitor one Facebook
page and one Twitter account.
A premium option costing $39
per month offers monitoring for up
to 10 accounts
7. Digsby
Originally an instant messaging app, Digsby has expanded to offer email and social networking management (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) along with chat in one application. Free downloadable software runs on the desktop.
8. SproutSocial
A newer, premium business
app that’s been gaining in
popularity, SproutSocial
is focused on helping companies
monitor social media for content
posted about them. It provides
advanced features and allows
teams to post to multiple social
networks. It integrate with a wider
variety of social media than most
dashboards, including Yelp,
Foursquare and more . Offers a
30-day free trial to start, pricing
starts at $9 a month after that.
9. Everypost
Everypost is a handy app that basically allows you to post all ofyour updates onto the major socialnetworks from one place at one time. Simply write your message, add photos
or videos, and hashtags then send off to Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Facebook,
LinkedIn, Tumblr, or via e-mail (even all at the same time, if you want). Another cool features is the Twitter text shortener. This will
automatically shorten tweets so that they are under 140 characters.
10. Buffer
Buffer is one of the most popular
social media message scheduling
and sharing applications available.
With one easy click you’ll be able
to share content and schedule posts
via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn,
and Google+. Basically, it allows
you to stagger content throughout
the day so that social media feeds
have consistent updates. And, there’s
analytics about engagement and reach
of your posts.
Buffer is free, but only for a short period. However, you can schedule ahead of time, which is really handy. For just $10 a month you can schedule as many posts as you want, use up to 12 social profiles, and have two team members assigned to one account.
