How To Link An Image In Your Blog To A Capture Page
We all like to click on images so it’s very important that we link the images in our blog to a capture page, another blog or maybe a sales presentation.
If you don’t link the image to some destination, it will go to the url where it is hosted. This will more than likely be a download from your computer, Google images, iStock, tinypic or where ever the image is hosted.
Watch the video below and I’ll show you how to link an image on your blog to a capture page.
Simple enough…
Just not everyone does it.
I hope this helps and if it helped you understand why you should link your images to a page, please leave me a comment below.

Hi Sherry, I agree there are times when you need to link your images to a lead capture page when it makes sense to do so.
It comes with a price though, I will elaborate.
When you link your image to an internal page on your site it helps feed the authority of your site. Basically for example say you wrote a blog post specifically talking about the benefit of your business. Maybe you are trying to rank higher for that keyword. On another blog post you are writing you are talking about the same subject except from a different angle.
You add an image, you should link that image to your older post. This is a good practice for search engine optimization.
By the same token, if you use lots of images linking out to capture pages that aren’t on your site internally you are loosing link juice to those sites.
You want to balance out the amount of out going links you have vs incoming links. You really want more incoming links than you do out going links.. Always remember to use alt text descriptions when uploading images. This also helps with seo.
Also be sure that when you are linking images to have them go to another window.. You want to keep your prospect on your blog as long as possible. Because the longer the person stays at your site the lower the bounce rate is and that is also an indicator to search engines that people like your site…
Thanks so much for your awesome comments and insight Larry. I will definitely take these points into consideration when linking my images. I often link back to to a previous post but sometimes get carried away when there’s a promotion going on and link to capture pages.
Thanks for pointing out the importance of using alt text.I will start making use of that.
I don’t always focus on SEO (probably should) when I blog. However, the tips you shared are valuable and I will be more conscientious of this in the future.
The purpose of this post was to show “how to” and that the link should go somewhere besides just as am image on a computer. I have seen many of those lately that don’t go anyplace and wanted to show to do it.
Thanks again for your comments and for sharing your tips.

Thanks so much Marko. I didn’t know this either when I started blogging. That makes me thankful for the great training we have inside our system or I still wouldn’t know this. Thanks for your comments.
