The Imagination Behind "Piggly Wiggly"
I am reading the book “The Law of Success”
by Napoleon and found an interesting story
I would like to share with you.
Watch the video below for the story.
Clarence Saunders was a grocery clerk in a small retail store. He had never made over $20 a week. One day he was standing in line with a tin tray in his hand waiting be get food in a cafeteria.
He was not one that stood out from others. He had never done anything that indicated he had an unusual ability, but something took place in his mind as he stood in line waiting to be served.
He put his imagination to work and realized that is was a waste of time for people to stand in line waiting to be served. With that thought he organized the “Piggly Wiggly” which was the very first self-help grocery store.
He had a definite purpose and he supported that purpose with sufficient self-confidence to cause him to take the initiative to transform it into reality. By doing so, he went from the $20 a week grocery clerk to the million-dollar chain-store millionaire.
Three key factors to notice…he had a definite purpose, self-confidence, and initiative.
I’m sure you have heard of other success stories like this but this one is one that I was not familiar with and I felt it was worthy of sharing.
