Enduring Faith
Today (July 27, 2014) our Sunday School lesson in church was about “Enduring Faith”.
What an awesome topic. Actually, this is part #3 of a 6 part series on faith. The first 2 lessons were on “Focused Faith” and “Active Faith”. This particular lesson on Enduring Faith inspired me to think about areas where our faith may be strong and also the areas that need improvement.
I do not intend to preach and it doesn’t matter what religion you are (if any) what I want to discuss is the importance of having faith in yourself.
Believing in yourself and having faith in yourself will help you accomplish anything you choose.
I love this quote from Norman Vincent Peal…
“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.”
Faith is the only known agency which will give your thoughts a spiritual natural.
According to Dr. Napoleon Hill as stated in the book “Think and Grow Rich” FAITH is one of the 7 positive emotions. The other emotions are desire, love, sex, enthusiasm, romance, and hope.
We develop faith in ourselves but we also have to have faith in God.
Matthew 7:7-8 says “Ask and it will be give to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be open to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks fins, and to him who knocks it will be open.”
Notice it does not say “some” who asks but “everyone” who asks.
We put our faith in many things without realizing it. Every time you flip a light switch you have faith the light will come on.
We have faith that every time we turn on a faucet, we will receive the desired stream of water.
If we can have faith if these things, why can’t we have faith in ourselves?….Each other…and God?
God wants us to be prosperous and successful. We can only help others if we are successful.
Maybe you are in a position were you need to take a “leap of “faith”. Do you have enough faith in yourself to KNOW without a doubt you can accomplish whatever you want?
