Sometimes it actually cracks me up when I see all of the network marketing, home business opportunities, get rich quick opportunities that are available.

That leads to my question “what should you look for in a network marketing and how do you know if it’s a scam?

A few days ago I was on Facebook and I saw a post about earning fifty cents for every question you could answer. Apparently, the questions were short and easy and you could answer one in less than a minute. Doing the math, that could be about $60 per hour right?

Reading the comments under this post, one person had been waiting for 2 days for her first question to be sent to her for her to answer. Seriously??? Would someone actually wait 2 days for a question to answer and earn fifty cents? Apparently so.

I’m not saying this is a scam because it was free to join (or so it said) what I am saying is why would someone do that?

When choosing a network marketing company, MLM, home business opportunity or whatever here are a few things that you need to take into consideration.

Know The Vision Of The Company

This will save you a lot of time and heartache. Do the owners have a vision for the company or for themselves? Joining a company whose vision is both long term and completely committed to the growth of the company and the success of the partners/affiliates/members will provide more security and confidence in your future and growth within that company.

What Product Are You Going To Be Selling/Promoting?
It has been rumored that the product doesn’t matter but the truth of the matter is that the product DOES matter. In order to generate income in your business, you will have to sell something to it’s best to ensure you are selling something that people want of need. You should not have to spending your time convincing people to buy but rather they should be chasing you to buy your product. If you are selling the right product you are more likely to be more motivated and committed to build your business along the great potential to keep your team inspired to continue making sales.

Compensation Plan
Are you going to be earning fifty cents for answering a question? I hope your time is more important than that. Find out what percent of commission you will be earning. Would you settle for selling a $100 product at 25% commission or would you rather sell a $3000 product for a 100% commission? Compensation is a huge part of the equation when looking for a home or network marketing business.

Is There Accessible and Abundant Leadership?
Having leadership within the company and on your team will help you stay focused, give guidance, and should be sincerely concerned with your success. Joining a company just because your brother, cousin or friend of a friend joined a company does not mean you have to do the same. Know who you are joining and become an active part of the team by staying connected.

Are Systems In Place?
There has to be systems in place to help you grow and help your team grow. It’s all about teamwork and especially in network marketing because it is all about building a team of people (with the same vision) that duplicate you and your efforts so everyone involved can start building a residual income. The company needs structure and the more duplicable the systems are, the quicker you and your team will experience success.

I would love to hear your comments. If you are online at all I’m sure you have seen the same or similar opportunities like the one I mentioned at the beginning of this article. If all those opportunities were legit everyone would be rich.
