"Keys To Success" – by Napoleon Hill

Recently I have been reading “Keys To Success” by Napoleon Hill

and I realized this is valuable information that everyone should

know.  

 

Even though I highly recommend you get the book and 

read it in its entirety, I am going to give a brief outline of if here.

This covers “The 17 Principles of Personal Achievement”

as defined by Dr. Napoleon Hill.

 

            1.  DEVELOP DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE

a.     The Advantages of Definiteness of Purpose –

Helps develop self-reliance, personal imitative,

Imagination, enthusiasm, self-discipline, and concentrated

effort.

b.     Specialization – encourages you to specialize

and specialization leads to perfection.

c.     Alertness to Opportunity – makes you aware

Of opportunities related to your major purpose,

And inspires the courage to act on them.

d.     Faith – it opens you mind to the quality known

As faith.  It makes your mind positive and frees

It from the limitations of doubt, discouragement,

Indecision, and procrastination that leads to

Roadblock.

e.     The Power of the Subconscious – Any dominating

Idea, plan, or purpose held in your conscious mind t

hrough repeated effort and emotionalized by a

Burning desire for its realization is taken over the

The subconscious and acted upon through whatever

Natural and logical means available.  The subconscious

mind receives and image that is transferred to it by

the conscious mind under strong emotion.

 

f.      Putting Definiteness of Purpose To Work –

Creating a Plan – No one get something for nothing.

People who have money to give will expect to receive

something in return” a product, a service, an

increase in their own capital.   You will not be

successful until you have returned to everyone

who has aided you everything he or she is due.

you definite purpose must include provisions

for doing this.

g.       Success Is a Worthy Goal –

If you are going to achieve success, you will

do so only by extraordinary effort, effort that

most people are not willing to make.  Most people would

not choose to be as dedicated to a definite major

purpose as you must be.

h.      Creating Opportunity – There is not scarcity of

Opportunity.  There is only shortage of imagination.

Countless people gain new wealth every year, whether the

economy is prospering or ailing.

 

       2.  ESTABLISH A MASTERMIND ALLIANCE

              A. mastermind alliance is built on two or more

        minds working actively together in perfect

       harmony toward a common definite object.

a.       Forming a Mastermind Alliance –

Step 1 – Determine Your Purpose – You must be

Certain that the purpose of the alliance is either

The same as yours or very closely aligned.

 

Step 2 – Select the Members of Your Alliance

There are two qualities to keep foremost in your

Mind that will help you avoid too many surprises

When choosing your alliance (1) ability to do the job

(2) ability to work in a spirit of harmony with others.

 

Step 3 – Determine Your Rewards – Clearly

Determined rewards for participation in your

Mastermind alliance are an important factor

in its harmony.  There are 10 basic motives toward

action that can be the basis of these rewards:

Self-preservation, love, fear, sex, desire for life

after death, freedom for mind and body, anger,

hate, desire for recognition and self-expression,

and wealth.  Wealth has the greatest appeal for

greatest appeal for members of your enterprise, but

remember that other motives can play an

important role.

 

Step 4 – Set a Time and Place for Meeting –

Your alliance must be active to do any good. 

Establish a definite place and time for regular

meetings to ensure that you are making progress

and dealing with the issues you face.

 

b.       Maintaining Your Alliance –

The harmony of your alliance is built upon

the mutual agreement on your definite purpose.

Your attention should focus on four areas.

(1)   Confidence

(2)   Understanding

(3)   Fairness and Justice

(4)   Courage

 

c.       Form a Mastermind Alliance with Yourself –

You will begin to take charge of the efforts of

others only when you take complete charge

of the power of your own mind.

 

d.       Cultivate Mastermind Alliance Wherever You Can-

Once you recognize the benefits of mastermind

alliances you will understand that they can serve

you in many areas.  You can – and must – make

progress on many fronts to achieve personal

success.

–           In Your Marriage – a mastermind alliance with

the person you love most deeply is of untold

importance.

–           In Your Education – No one’s education is

ever complete.

 

These are the first two steps of the 17 Principles of Personal

Achievement as defined by Napoleon Hill in the book

“Keys To Success”.
