Have you ever booked a flight online?

 

Reserved a hotel room?

Did you hear how Orbitz (the online

hotel and flight booking site) is altering

it’s hotel recommendations? 

 

See, they’ve done some research and

found that Mac users will spend MORE

than PC users.

 

 

So like a good little business, they show

Mac users more expensive choices than

PC users when they’re searching the site. 

 

Same as the shoe store clerk will show

a woman more expensive shoes based

on the purse she carries in.

 

Now, when I first heard this I was a bit

ticked off, thinking Orbitz would be

charging MORE for the SAME product,

just because someone would pay for it.

 

That would be a bit sleazy right?

 

Well it turns out Orbitz isn’t showing the

same room to different users at different

prices…

 

… but more luxurious rooms at higher prices.

 

Very cool strategy I think!

 

 

 

So, if Orbitz knows there are people looking

for what they offer, and are willing to pay MORE

for it (because of ‘who’ they are)

 

… how can YOU use this to PROFIT more?

 

… How can you benefit from selling more

‘expensive’ products while not working

any harder?

 

Just like Orbitz.
