4 Key Tips For Beginner Bloggers

If you have considered blogging but don’t know what to do, I’m excited to share these 4 Key Tips For Beginner Bloggers.

These blogging tips will get you off to a great start even if you are a newbie.

1.  Write About What You Love

What are you passionate about?  Do you love cooking, cross-fit, sports, ending world hunger, or maybe there is a particular “cause” that draws your interest.

Whatever it is that you are passionate about, that is what you should write about.

If you don’t have the passion for your topic, you don’t have much to offer your readers… and, they will soon be gone.

You readers are coming for your content; to revel in your passion. So don’t let them down.

I have caught myself saying I am an avid gardener.  Even though I enjoy gardening, over the past few years since I have started blogging, I have found that gardening is not my passion.

Passion

My passion is helping others; more specifically helping others achieve their goals and live a more fulfilling life.

Occasionally, I may step off track and post an funny video or maybe write about something exciting that has happened, but the majority of the time I write about personal development, getting started in a home business, and provide tips, tools, and training that will help others with their own home business.

The bottom line it write about your passion and always provide valuable content.

2.  Show Your Personality

Another way to say that is to write like you talk.  If you are a doctor, lawyer, truck driver, or physical trainer, it’s important to write like to talk.

If you use “big words” in your everyday vocabulary, then it will definitely be appropriate to use those words in your blog….if and only if…your target audience also uses the same vocabulary.

By writing the way you talk, your audience will be able to resonate with you.

I’m going to contradict myself for a moment.  A few days ago, I posted an article about 2 new words I had learned, psychosclerosis and homeostasis.

I don’t use those words in my every day vocabulary. However, I felt that sharing the new words with my readers (target audience) was appropriate because the definition of these words could help others relate to why they are the way they are and how they can make changes.

In general though, write the way to talk so you readers can relate to you.

3.  Content Is Key

Write content that YOU would want to read.

Make your blog stand out with good, creative, helpful, inspiring content.

Write with the intend of being a “problem solver” by answering questions that your readers may ask.

You may even consider asking your audience what they would enjoy reading about or what problems they are having.

This can be a great way to gather ideas of what topics people would most like to read about, which will help your blog grow!

Your focus may be creating blog posts that answer the most interesting questions from people you engage with on social media.

Content is King

4.  Have The Right Blogging Platform

I’m amazed at the many people who think that a free blog is the way to go.

A free blog is great if you don’t want to make money  with it and you don’t expect to attract readers.

It doesn’t matter if you are a “newbie” or a seasoned blogger, having the right blogging system will make or break you.

If you are looking to make money with your blog, you need to have a authority blog (one that search engines love).  This makes your blog easy to find.

What is the goal of your blog?

Are you blogging for personal or for business?  More specifically, do you want to make money with your blog?
