3 Important Things You Should Know About LinkedIn

If you’re not using LinkedIn to grow your business you’re missing out on connecting with a large community of business professionals.

Even though Facebook is still the #1 Social Networking site for 2015 with 900,000,000 – estimated unique monthly visitors,  LinkedIn comes in third behind Twitter with 255,000,000 – estimated unique monthly visitors

(Twitter comes in 2nd with 310,000,000 – Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors and Pinterest is closed behind LinkedIn with 250,000,000 – Estimated Unique Monthly Visitors. Source. http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/social-networking-websites)

1.  Are you aware that LinkedIn provides a blogging platform?

LinkedIn opened up their blogging platform to all users in 2014, but very few have taken advantage of being a part of the LinkedIn publishing empire.

If you are only blogging on your own blog you are missing out on the opportunity to get your content in front of eager eyes on LinkedIn.

Blogging on LinkedIn is very simple.  After you complete your post on your Kalatu blog, copy and paste that sucker on LinkedIn.

Works very well and you can easily link back to your Kalatu blog or even add banners that link to whatever site you choose.

2.  Are you aware LinkedIn has Analytics?

With each LinkedIn analytics section, the metrics are displayed graphically, so trends in engagement, follower growth, and visitor traffic can be viewed over time.

The updates section offers a content-level analysis of what’s resonating with your followers. In the LinkedIn lexicon, an “update” is the equivalent to a post on Facebook or tweet on Twitter.

Analytics also shows how you rank. LinkedIn Rank

#3. Are you aware you can export your LinkedIn connections to a csv file?

It’s pretty simple to export your LinkedIn connections to a CSV file

You can create custom audiences on both Facebook and Twitter to target ads towards your LinkedIn connections.

Once exported, take that CSV file and create custom audiences in your audience managers on Facebook and Twitter (under the Tools menu). On Facebook, you can even create a look alike audience to target ads towards people similar to your LinkedIn connections.

You can export name, address, email, business, etc. however, I don’t want to expose any information on my connections so I’m only illustrating business categories.

LinkedIn Export

To export your connections list:• Move your cursor over Connections at the top of your homepage and select Keep in Touch. • Click the Settings icon near the top right to reach the Contact Settings page. • Under Advanced Settings on the right, click Export LinkedIn Connections. •

I’m not recommending you stop using your #1 social media strategy, I’m only suggesting that you consider at least creating a LinkedIn account, set up your profile, and post your Kalatu blog posts there too. It’s a great way to get more exposure.
