Key points of the "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker

I recently started re-reading “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker and thought I would share a few of the key concepts in this book.  If you haven’t read it I highly suggest you purchase a copy today.

 

 

The book is actually divided into two parts rather than in chapters. Part One is “Your Money Blueprint” and part Two is “The Wealth Files”.

 

It all focuses on how when we are growing up we are programmed to believe certain way about money, how to make money, how to invest money, and how to spend money.  When he talks about the money blueprint, he is actually referring to your preset program or way of being in relation to money.

The Process of Manifestation, is a formula that determines how you create your reality and wealth.  The formula goes like this.

T-F-A=R

Wealth Principle
Thoughts lead to feelings.
Feelings lead to actions.
Actions lead to results.

 

Thoughts lead to feelings, those feelings lead to action, and action therefore will lead to results.  So, where do our thoughts come from? It all stems from your past programming. What your were taught growing up and how you are actually preconditioned by these thoughts.

P-T-F-A=R

Refers to the programming you have that leads to your thoughts.

We are conditioned in three primary ways in our life.
1. Verbal programming:  What did you hear when you were young?
2. Modeling:  What did you see they you were young?
3.  Specific incidents:  What did you experience when you were young?

Although he goes in to much detail in each area, for the purpose of this review I am going to list the steps for change he recommends.

 

Steps for Change:  Verbal Programming

 

AWARENESS:  Write down all the statements you heard about money, wealth, and rich people when you were young.

UNDERSTANDING: Write down how you believe these these statements have affected your life so far.

DISASSOCIATION:  Can you see that these thoughts represent only what you learned and are not part of you anatomy and now who you are?  Can you see that you have a choice in the present moment to be different?

DECLARATION: Place you hand over your heart and say:
What I heard about money isn’t necessarily true. I choose to adapt new ways of thinking that support my happiness and success.

Touch you head and say…
“I have a millionaire mind”

 

 Steps for Change: Modeling

 

AWARENESS: Consider the ways of being and habits each of your parents had around money and wealth.  Write down how you may be identical or opposite to either of them.

UNDERSTANDING: Write down the effect this modeling has had on your financial life.

DISASSOCIATION: Can you see this way of being is only what you learned and isn’t you? Can you see you have a choice in the present moment to be different?

DECLARATION: Place you hand over your heart and say…
“What I modeled around money was their way. I choose my way”
Touch your head and say…
“I have a millionaire mind!”

 

Steps for Change: Specific Incidents

 

AWARENESS:  Consider a specific emotional incident you experienced around money when you were young.

UNDERSTANDING: Write down how this incident may have affected your current financial life.

DISASSOCIATION: Can you see this way of being is only what you learned and isn’t you? Can you see you have a choice in the present moment to be different?

DECLARATION: Place you hand on your heart and say…
“I release my nonsupportive money experiences from the past and create a new and rich future.”
Touch your head and say…
“I have a millionaire mind”

Mindset is everything and following these steps will greatly get you on your way to transforming your mind and your way of thinking.
