20 Things You Should Not Share On Social Media

Often I am amazed at the personal information

that people share on Social Media.  Does anyone

else get blown away by that information.

For instance, you are planning to leave on vacation

so you let all of your friends (and their friends)

know you will be away for 7 days.

Sure you may have a alarm system but so do banks

and they get robbed all the time.

Just for the heck of it, here are a few things that should

not be shared on Social Media.  Please feel free to leave

comments and add to the list because I am sure you

have read some things that amaze you as well. 

Things You Should Not Share on Social Media

1. Party picture showing you inebriated or a hand placed where it shouldn’t be.
2. That you are having a party..you might get more guests than you counted on.
3. Photos revealing  you flirting with the boss’s spouse (or a co-worker’s spouse) at employee only party.
4. That you are having an affair
5. That you are thinking of having an affair
6. Complaints about your boss
7. Plans to call in sick the next day before you get sick
8. How much you hate your job and want to leave
9. Any incriminating evidence (post or pics) revealing you were not where you were supposed to be (at Walmart but to sick to work)
10. Problems with your friends or family
11. Passwords or any login information
12. Updates on Facebook after you have escaped from Jail and on the run (don’t laugh it has happened)
13. Revealing your thoughts about a court case… when on jury duty
14. Financial information…I actually had a friend who posted her husband’s salary on a personal blog she posted on Facebook. 
15. You are leaving on vacation
16. The dates you are away on your vacation
17. Your daily schedule…if you jog the same time each day..don’t post it on social media
18. Showing you doing something stupid .. not good for personal branding
19. Revealing extreme views on Race, Religion or politics
20. Finally, If you are not comfortable about it … don’t share it
