Twitter is a micro blog. It’s an easy

an affective way to get prospects to

your website or blog.  In less than 140

characters you can reveal enough

information to arouse curiosity.

 

As with any other social media platform,

Twitter can be easy or complicated.  Not

that it is complicated but it can involve

more than just following people.

 

Many Twitter users utilize the social media

site to build their company brand or generate

leads. There are bloggers who use the platform

 to share ideas and articles and to see what

others are writing about. Others check Twitter

 for news and to see what celebrities or friends

are up to.

 

 

The purpose of this article is to provide

information regarding tools that can help

you in building your following as well as

some common courtesy ideas.

 

Socialoomph is a service that allows you to

schedule posts in bulk, monitor multiple

accounts  and tap into Facebook and LinkedIn.

 

Fiverr is another tool to help gain followers.

Just keep in mind that these are random

followers and may not even speak your

language.  The only purpose to using

Fiverr is to grow your followers.  These

followers are not likely to be interested

in your product or service.

 

 

Hootsuite is a social media management system

for businesses and organizations.  Hootsuite’s

social media dashboard allows scheduling, tools to

reach audiences and provides a social analytics

tools for measurment.  Hootsuite makes it easy

to see Direct Messages (DM), mentions,

followers, andmany other functions all in

one place.

 

Google’s Keyword Planner has replace keyword

Tool.  This tool is used to find the keywords that

make up your industry or market. This may or

may not be a tool which interests you. It depends

on if you are searching for specific people to

follow.

 

Hashtags (#) are a tool to make words more

searchable.  Hashtags allow Twitter used to

tap into a Twitter-wide conversation.  This

will help you discover trending conversations

and decide which ones your want to

participate.

 

Echofon is a Twitter app that keeps unread

tweets in sync between apps on different devices.

It makes viewing and sharing photos, videos,

and links super simple.  Echofon apps notify

you of mentions and messages. You can avoi

duplicate alerts and set a sleep period.

 

TweetAdder is a Twitter marketing software

and promotion tool.  There is a cost of $55

for one profile if you want a complete version.

There are many other tools that can be

used with Twitter such as Tweetdeck, Topsy,

and Radian6.

 

Now a few common courtesy rules of Twitter.

 

Followback.  If someone follows you and you do

don’t followback, it is very likely that they

will unfollow you shortly.

 

Do not spam.  Spamming makes you look bad

and Twitter can suspend your account.  You can

also get suspended for following to many people

to quickly.

 

It’s not always easy to see when someone

retweets one of your tweets but it is polite

to message them and say “thanks for the RT”

when you are aware they have done this.

 

It is also noteworthy that many peoplewill not

follow you if you use TrueTwit.

It can be annoying and having to “verify”

to someone that you want to be in there

presence is not worth my time.

 

Profile. Don’t spout off hate in your

profile.  The only people who want to

follow haters are other hater.  Have a

nice picture of yourself and point out

your good qualities.
